High School Math Tutoring
Students in High School can get lost quickly as Math goes at a faster pace. Getting support from a Math tutor can really help!
I will first have a student take an IXL Diagnostic test to see their Math strengths and weaknesses. Then we can target the best areas to practice so the student can make great progress!
Whatever curriculum a student is using, I help them to do well in their current curriculum whether it's Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, or AP Pre-Calculus. I try not to confuse a student and teach them a different way of doing something in Math than they are learning in class. (Unless the method the student is using is wrong!)
I also give students Math puzzles to help expand their thinking. Also, they need to see that Math can actually be fun. Students need to see Math that's relevant in their world and interests. I try to give students relatable real-life Math problems to achieve this goal.
I will encourage a High School student to look ahead to the PSAT, SAT, ACT, or any other Math test on the horizon. SAT Prep practice can begin early so it's not overwhelming when that test is around the corner. And they will get a higher score if they are prepared!
