Yes I believe so!

Will it be a quick fix? No, it might take quite awhile to turn things around.

Aren't some people just not destined to be good in Math? No, it's like anything else in life. It may take time, but you can get good at Math. It's especially important to get good at the Math you need in your life.

OK, I was terrible in Math in Middle School, I had no help from my parents, and now I suck in Math in High School, I cheat alot in school, and I am so worried about taking Math in College. What do I do?

Congratulations, you took the first step. You admitted that you are tired of sucking in Math. I'm guessing you suck at fractions. Maybe you're not as bad as you think. The best time to catch up on weak areas in Math is during the summer or Christmas break. I know. Doesn't that sound fun? But you have to believe that it'll be fun to not suck at Math so bad.

Watch lots of free Youtubes on fractions and train yourself. Find someone that you think is OK to watch and not too nerdy for you or whatever works for you! And wa-la! One less thing on my Math burden. I'm Ok now in fractions. It wasn't a quick fix either.

Then maybe it's onto decimals. Do you remember the rule that when you add decimals: you have to line up the decimal point but you don't have to worry about lining up decimal points when you multiply. You need a notebook to keep track or just look it up on Google till it is second nature. And it's OK to keep looking it up. It's not OK to accept not being good in Math.

Now you're onto solving proportions and so on. Take ownership of your learning and don't tell yourself I am destined to be bad in Math. You have to plan. If you're worried about College Math, take advantage of time off and practice rather than dread that Math is coming in two months. One effective way to proceed is to try to teach yourself but then follow up with a Math tutor once per week to help you along the way.

Please don't settle :)
