A Parent or an Aunt or a Mentor or a Tutor

When a child is behind in Math, it is not a quick fix. Sometimes being behind is the result of an ongoing pile-up of day to day nurturing in Math that some kids take for granted. When a parent is not there, the Math can pile up little by little until it's a subject that the student can catch up in. Don't underestimate the power of an aunt, or a mentor, or a tutor to put in the day to day work needed over a year to help a student catch up :)
