Palama Settlement Math Volunteer Tutoring

Today my favorite moment of Math tutoring was when I got a student who wanted to really listen and get better in Math. He admitted he needs help and I helped him with the Perimeter and Area worksheet. I tried to help him to understand the difference between area and perimeter and gave him some real-life examples. Then since we need to multiply to find area, I encouraged him to persevere and learn the Multiplication table up to the 12 table. It takes two to be effective: a good teacher AND a willing student make the best combination!
